Upper Chichester police are investigating the fatal shooting Saturday night of a man in his late 20s outside his home.

A police spokesman said the shooting occurred around 10 p.m. in the 2600 block of Williams Street. Police were not releasing the name of the victim, pending notification of his relatives.

The police spokesman said the man was outside his vehicle and about to enter his residence when he was "accosted and shot and killed." He said that other news reports that the shooting was a drive-by were inaccurate.
