The ramp from the Vine Street Expressway to southbound I-95 in Center City will be closed and traffic detoured from 10 tonight to 4 tomorrow morning for pavement repairs, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said yesterday.

Eastbound motorists wanting to go south will need to exit at Sixth Street. The posted detour will be: south on Sixth to Race Street, then east to Columbus Boulevard, then south to the I-95 ramp at Morris Street.

An additional detour will be posted for those southbound motorists who remain on eastbound I-676 and reach northbound I-95. To reach southbound I-95, northbound motorists will exit at Girard Avenue. They will be directed to take Aramingo Avenue and follow signs to legally turn around and enter southbound I-95. Also, as part of the Schuylkill Expressway long-term paving project, one lane will be closed on the eastbound expressway between City Avenue and I-676 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night this week, PennDot said. - Inquirer staff
