A former Philadelphia sheriff's deputy has been ordered held for trial on charges that she shot a man she believed had burglarized her home, officials said yesterday.
Municipal Court Judge Harvey Robbins ordered Robin Green, 48, held for trial in the April 30 shooting of Donald Brown, 52. Green, who was a member of the sheriff's department at the time, drove to a home in the 1500 block of Dorrance Street in South Philadelphia and encountered Brown, officials said.
Brown testified that she told him, "You broke into my house." Green then shot him in the groin, he testified. Brown denies that he burglarized the woman's home. - Vernon Clark
