A Philadelphia police officer has been charged with several felonies after allegations that he kidnapped his estranged wife early Tuesday and threatened her at gunpoint, said Chief Inspector William Colarulo of the Internal Affairs Bureau.

Officer Stephan Logan, a 19-year veteran assigned to Philadelphia International Airport, turned himself in Wednesday and was charged with kidnapping, burglary, criminal trespassing, terroristic threats, unlawful restraint and related offenses, Colarulo said.

Logan, 47, is accused of going to the home of his wife, who is a Philadelphia police corporal, and forcing her into his car, Colarulo said. She persuaded Logan to let her go and was left in the parking lot of a supermarket in the 4400 block of Monument Road, Colarulo said.

Logan could not be reached for comment yesterday. Eugene Blagmond, spokesman for Philadelphia's Fraternal Order of Police, declined to comment on the case. - Barbara Boyer
