Bucks officer thinks fast, saves a life
A Bucks County man is recovering at a hospital after managing to fish out his cell phone while trapped under a car and dial 911.
Falls Township police say 20-year-old Mark Wassum Jr. was at a Morrisville junkyard on Sunday when jacks holding up a car failed. Although Wassum was able to call for help, the line went quiet shortly after he gave the salvage yard's location.
A policeman who arrived on the scene thought of a way to locate Wassum. He turned on his siren and drove around the lot, instructing the 911 dispatcher to alert him once the sound of the siren through the phone got loud. The officer found Wassum in a remote section of the yard within five minutes.
