House of the week: A brick rowhouse with parking in Roxborough for $299,900
The three-bedroom home has two off-street parking spaces and a finished basement bonus room.

Sometimes the smallest detail can be a key toward picking a house.
In the case of Miriam and Greg Davidson, it was the stone accent wall immediately visible in the sunroom when entering their Roxborough rowhouse.
They hung a swing seat next to it where Miriam, a teacher, enjoys sitting and reading.
“The stone matches the hardwood floors very nicely,” said Greg, who works for a federal agency. “And I really like the neighborhood feel.”
He also cites practical things like the two off-street parking spaces and the accessibility of public transit for his job downtown or the sports complex. He remembers — with no special fondness — living in Center City neighborhoods where people dreaded moving their cars and later having to find another spot.
But Greg, who grew up in Texas, would like more space so the couple is headed to suburbia.
Greg bought the three-bedroom, two-bath house in 2018 before he and Miriam married.
The main floor has a formal living room, a formal dining room, and a remodeled open kitchen with recessed lighting, quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances, generous cabinet and counter space, and a tile backsplash.
Upstairs has ribboned hardwood floors and all three bedrooms with ample closet space, a completely remodeled full bathroom, built-in shelving, and ceiling fans.
The full basement has a finished bonus room, full bath, and a laundry/storage room.
There is also a back patio with a storage shed.
The house is directly across the street from the trails of Fairmount Park.
Total square footage is 1,242.
The house is listed by Chris Gallagher of Keller Williams Blue Bell for $299,900.
