Since 2007, Judy Olsen and Charles Jones have found their four-bedroom, 3½ bath home in the Runnymeade Farms section of Edgmont Township ideal.

They loved the open floor plan, the views of the pond and woods, the community facilities, and the fact that there are two offices.

But they have been retired for several years — Olsen was a university librarian and adjunct English instructor and Jones was a research chemist for a petrochemical company, who later worked part-time as a rocket fuels scientist.

So the home they’re moving to in West Grove in Chester County better suits their 2023 needs: All on one floor but close to grandchildren and still spacious enough for family visitors to stay with them.

The house they’re selling, which has a Newtown Square zip code, is in the Canter Village development. Olsen liked that the homeowner’s association provides significant maintenance — for example, mowing the lawn — but leaving her free to plant a garden of perennials.

The primary suite is on the second floor, but several owners of similar models have converted the first-floor living room into the primary bedroom.

The family room has a fireplace and leads to a deck with pond views. The kitchen has a skylight and mostly stainless steel appliances, custom cabinetry, and an island with built-in breakfast area.

There is also a formal dining room.

The laundry/mudroom is just off the kitchen and leads to a two-car garage, with the driveway providing additional parking space.

The primary suite has two walk-in closets, and it and the bath both overlook the pond. Two other bedrooms are on the second level.

The finished walkout lower level has a den with sliders to a patio, an office, a bedroom, a full bath, and storage area. The living room, family room, and kitchen also have sliders leading to the deck.

Canter Village has a pool and tennis and pickleball courts. The house is convenient to Ridley Creek State Park, Rose Tree Park, the airport, and the Blue Route (I-476).

The house has 3,600 square feet and is in the Rose Tree-Media School District.

It is listed by Donna McCole of BHHS Fox & Roach Wayne-Devon for $695,000.
