New Sands Bethlehem Casino

From the ashes of the former Bethlehem steel plant rises a $743 million casino that is sure to transform the Lehigh Valley. Sands Bethlehem Casino debuts May 22 where the former steel plant used to stand and is the biggest among the eight casinos now open in Pennsylvania. The new casino is anticipated to make things even rougher for Atlantic City by drawing heavily from New York and North Jersey - two key feeder markets for A.C. At a projected cost of $743 million, the first phase of the project will feature a 139,000 square foot casino with 3,000 state-of-the-art slot machines and electronic table games as well as a variety of dining and entertainment options. An additional 2,000 slot machines and electronic table games will be added later in 2009 with the approval of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
