Looking to rebound from last week’s blowout loss, the Philadelphia Eagles (10-2) will take on the Dallas Cowboys (9-3) tonight on NBC’s Sunday Night Football in a high-stakes battle for the NFC East title.

The math is pretty simple. The Eagles will remain in first place in the NFC East with a win, while a loss would catapult the Cowboys to the top of the division. Both the Eagles and Cowboys could clinch a playoff spot with a win and some help. Here are all the possible playoff scenarios.

Coming off their worst loss of the season against the San Francisco 49ers, the Eagles enter Sunday’s game as underdogs. The Birds have struggled in recent years at AT&T Stadium, where they have lost five straight games. The last time the Eagles defeated the Cowboys on the road was in 2017, a season that ultimately ended with them winning Super Bowl LII.

On a positive note, head coach Nick Sirianni is 3-0 on Sunday Night Football since he was hired in 2021, the longest active streak on NBC in the NFL. The Eagles have also won their past two Sunday night matchups against the Cowboys, most recently last season.

Overall, the Eagles are just 4-7 against the Cowboys the past six seasons. It’ll be just the third head-to-head meeting between Jalen Hurts and Dak Prescott since Hurts became the Eagles’ starting quarterback in 2021. The first was a blowout loss to the Cowboys in Week 3 of 2021, and the second was the Eagles’ win last month. Since that loss, Dallas has won four straight games, most recently defeating the Seattle Seahawks in a shootout on Thursday Night Football.

This is the Eagles’ second Sunday Night Football game this season, and it’s the first of three straight nationally broadcast games for the Birds (followed by the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football Dec. 18 and the New York Giants on Christmas).

While the Cowboys are “America’s Team,” the Eagles have arguably been a bigger TV draw this season. Outside of the league’s Thanksgiving games, the NFL’s five most-watched games this season have involved the Eagles. Last week’s loss to the San Francisco 49ers drew over 27 million viewers, making it the most-watched Week 13 game since 2015, according to Sports Media Watch.

The Sunday Night Football game between the Eagles and the Cowboys is scheduled to kick off at 8:20 p.m. on NBC.

Calling the game will be announcer Mike Tirico, in his second season after replacing Al Michaels. Tirico has called 20 Eagles games, dating back to the decade he spent calling Monday Night Football on ESPN, and has a soft spot for Philly and its fans.

“I’ve loved covering these Eagles games over the years,” Tirico told The Inquirer. “Being a kid who grew up in New York, knowing the passion for Philly sports and getting to experience it firsthand. … For me it’s been a lot of fun to be a part of the Philly scene over the last 20 years or so.”

Sitting alongside him in the booth will be analyst Cris Collinsworth, long a favorite of Eagles fans who did a terrific job calling out two missed pass interference plays last week with NBC rules analyst Terry McAulay.

Melissa Stark will report from the sidelines at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Eagles-Cowboys will also air on the radio on 94.1 WIP, where fans can listen to the familiar voices of Merrill Reese and former Eagles receiver Mike Quick. WIP host Howard Eskin will handle sideline reporting duties.

Rickie Ricardo, Oscar Budejen, and Bill Kulik will call Eagles-Cowboys in Spanish on La Mega 105.7 FM in Philadelphia.
