New films released just in time for Thanksgiving

‘The Fabelmans’
Semiautobiographical film from director Steven Spielberg about an Arizona boy who yearns to make movies and uses his camera to learn about himself, his family secret, and the world. Starring Michelle Williams, Paul Dano, Judd Hirsch, Gabriel LaBelle. Already receiving lots of Oscar buzz. (Rated PG-13. Premieres Wednesday, Nov. 23, in theaters.)
‘Devotion’
Jonathan Majors stars as Jesse Brown, the Navy’s first Black aviator. The action-drama looks at his heroics during the Korean War and his friendship with fellow pilot Tom Hudner (Glen Powell). Directed by J.D Dillard. (Rated PG-13. Premieres Wednesday, Nov. 23, in theaters.)
‘Strange World’
Borrowing from the sci-fi pulp stories of decades ago, this retro animated Disney feature looks at three generations of a family of explorers, one of whom may not have the right DNA for adventure. Featuring the voices of Jake Gyllenhaal, Gabrielle Union, Jaboukie Young-White, Dennis Quaid, Lucy Liu, and Alan Tudyk. (Rated PG. Premieres Wednesday, Nov. 23, in theaters.)
