A computer-forensics expert from the FBI is due back on the witness stand this morning as prosecutors continue to try to prove that former State Sen. Vincent J. Fumo sought to thwart the federal investigation.
Agent Justin Price began testifying Wednesday about how he helped in the hunt for e-mail evidence. Price said he ultimately compiled material from 63 computers examined from Harrisburg and Philadelphia – including e-mail from the computer of Leonard P. Luchko, who was a technician in Fumo's South Philadelphia legislative office.
Fumo, 65, is charged with 139 counts, including obstructing justice, and defrauding the state Senate and two nonprofits. His co-defendant, Ruth Arnao, the former head of the nonprofit Citizens' Alliance for Better Neighborhoods, is charged with 45 counts, mostly focusing on the alleged fraud on that nonprofit.
The prosecution may rest its case sometime next week.
