A man armed with a knife who had threatened a SEPTA employee was fatally shot by police late Friday afternoon in the city’s Frankford section, police said.

The man was shot shortly after 5 p.m. in the 1500 block of Pratt Street at the SEPTA employee parking lot next to the Frankford Transportation Center and was pronounced dead at Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, police said.
