Sorta-super hero Jessica Jones has been the Marvel buzz since the November premiere of the Netflix show of the same name. In it, Jones (Krysten Ritter) must face her arch-nemesis, the mind-controlling Kilgrave (David Tennant), who effectively kept her as a slave for months, refusing to allow her to act out of her own free will. The show is based off of the comic book series Alias, written by Brian Michael Bendis and artist Michael Gaydos.

Local writer and avid comics reader Emily Guendelsberger noticed while re-reading the books that Kilgrave, also known as the Purple Man, is a drinker of Pottsville, Pa.'s own Yuengling.

So why is Kilgrave, a nefarious villain, who makes those around him commit unspeakable acts, a Lager drinker? When reached for comment, Gaydos replied, "Truthfully, that was probably what I had in my fridge at the time to use as beer bottle reference."
