MTV's 'The Real World' holds auditions in Philly
Producers of MTV's 'The Real World' will hold an open casting call April 14 in Philly.
If you are one of the few people left in America without your own reality show prick up your ears: MTV's The Real World, the grand-mammy of all reality series, is holding open auditions for its 28th season on April 14 in Philadelphia.
Casting Directors from show's creator, Bunim/Murray Productions, will be on hand from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on that special Saturday at McFadden's Restaurant & Bar, 461 N. 3rd Street in Old City.
Does this mean the next season, which will begin shooting in late 2012, will be based in Philly? (Season 15, you may remember, was set here.)
Not necessarily: MTV has yet to announce where they'll shoot.
The 26th season was set in San Diego, while the 27th season is being shot as we speak in St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands.
Some helpful information:
So who are the next stars of The Real World? "We look for characters from real life; people with strong personalities who are unafraid to speak their minds," says Jonathan Murray, Executive Producer of The Real World.
Past seasons have been populated with cast members from diverse backgrounds, who have shared their daily experiences openly with millions of viewers.
Fans of the show will remember alumni such as Pedro, the HIV/AIDS educator; Ryan the musically gifted Iraq War vet; Knight, the hockey player/recovering addict; and Danny and Melinda, the young couple who fell in love on the Austin season. The success of The Real World can be greatly attributed to the diversity of the cast each season. The show mirrors the make-up of the general population by including people from all walks of life.
