With that, just about everything from your average millennial’s childhood has been used as fodder for the Hollywood remake machine.

It's been more than 20 years since beloved 90s icons the Power Rangers made their debut, but it looks like it's morphin time again thanks to an upcoming live-action Power Rangers movie. With that, just about everything from your average millennial's childhood has been used as fodder for the Hollywood remake machine.

Described in a press release as a way to "re-envision the Might Morphin Power Rangers," the film will see owners Saban join Lionsgate for what will come to serve as the third live-action film in the Power Rangers canon. And, perhaps not surprisingly, they're coming for your nostalgia:

"We're thrilled to be partnering with Haim Saban and his team to maximize the potential of this immensely successful and universally recognized franchise," said Lionsgate Chief Executive Officer Jon Feltheimer. "The Power Rangers stories and characters have been embraced by generations of audiences for more than 20 years, and today they are more powerful than ever. We have the ideal partner and the perfect brand with which to create a motion picture event that will resonate with moviegoers around the world for years to come."

The last time we saw the Rangers grace the silver screen was way back in the 90s with Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie, which was the follow-up to Power Rangers: The Movie. Since then, we've seen a slew of actors helm the Rangers' roles, with older cast members even recently making a return for the 20th anniversary last year. Whether that trend continues in the newest film, we will have to wait and see.

In the mean time, let's just hope the reboot doesn't go all gritty on us.
