P'unk Burger partners with Franklin Fountain for ice cream on East Passyunk

The new partnership will place the Old City soda fountain's wares on East Passyunk Avenue for the first time.

P'unk Burger is now selling three new holiday milkshakes made with ice cream sourced from the Franklin Fountain, as part of a new partnership that will place the Old City soda fountain's wares on East Passyunk Avenue for the first time.

The first three shakes ($8) are Gingersnap Eggnog Custard, Cinnamon, and nondairy Peppermint Stick. The three seasonal flavors are also available at P'unk Burger by the scoop as well as for floats with Maine Root natural soda on the fountain.

The gingersnap eggnog custard is infused with candied orange peel, and warmed with fresh nutmeg and a touch of brandy. Grated nutmeg gives it aromatics.

The cinnamon is made with Sumatran cinnamon from Red Ape - it's non-GMO, organic, and 5 percemnt of the profits go towards helping orangutans. The cinnamon is packed by Pearl Buck Center, an organization that provides work for those with developmental disabilities.

The nondairy Peppermint Stick is made from crushed red and green peppermint candy ribbons and a coconut milk-based peppermint ice cream.

Customers can choose whole milk, almond milk, or soy milk for shakes.
