Len Ross out of jail in 3 months

Mayor Street's former fundraising pal closer to release date.

Leonard Ross, serving a 2 1/2 year sentence for corrupting the selection process for a Penn's Landing developer, left federal prison last month, and is serving out the rest of his sentence in a halfway house, according to a federal prisons Web site. He arrived there July 15.

When Ross is released for good - he's currently scheduled to get out Nov. 6 - he'll find a Philadelphia different from the one he knew.

For one thing, his former law partner, John Street, is, of course, no longer mayor.

For another, the agency that he was serving on when his troubles began will soon cease to exist. Mayor Nutter in late June called for its demise, announcing the formation of a new agency, the Delaware Waterfront Corp.

Still, not all will be unfamiliar. The Penn's Landing waterfront is still undeveloped.
