Randall's 'likely to redshirt' status won't change

Scootie Randall's status hasn't changed.

The Temple swingman will still likely redshirt this season.  And, according to a Temple spokesperson, that status won't change.

A day after Randall said his decision would be finalized on Thursday, the spokesperson said the school will not say if he'll definitely redshirt or not.

The reasoning?

"What if he changes his mind and decides that he wants to play?" the spokesperson said. "We don't have official releases about redshirts for that reason. So that's why we will say he will likely redshirt this season."

The 6-foot-6 senior has yet to play this season after recovering from offseason left knee surgery.

By redshirting, Randall will be able to play next season, one he hopes will be healthy. If he plays this season, he would be at less than 100 percent and out of game shape.
