Haddon Township girls' win second consecutive Group 1 title

Last season, Haddon Township claimed the South Jersey Group 1 girls' basketball title on Gloucester's court.

Tuesday night, the Hawks did it again on their own court.

Haddon Township defeated Gloucester, 42-34, in the tournament final.

Morgan Lenahan netted 24 points, including 10 in the fourth quarter. Sarah Getzinger scored 14 points and grabbed 13 rebounds.

"It was a great defensive effort on our part," Hawks' coach Tom Mulligan said. "We had great production from the starters to our bench, and the atmosphere was incredible. It was a March Madness-type atmosphere,"

It was the third year in a row that Haddon Township and Gloucester met in the final, and the fourth time in the last six years.
