Mount's Louin hits 1,000
Mount St. Joseph senior guard Alex Louin hit a free throw midway through Thursday afternoon's fourth quarter to record her 1,000th career point as the Magic topped Nazareth Academy, 66-22, in a Catholic Academies girls' basketball game.
Louin finished with 13 points and now has 1,001 for her career. She is the 11th player in school history to reach the mark. After she knocked down the free throw, the game was stopped and the Villanova-bound Louin presented the basketball to her mother.
"I've been blessed to have a lot of talented players at this school," said coach John Miller, who has coached six 1,000-point scorers. "But I would say Alex Louin is the most talented player I've had the privilege to coach here at Mount St. Joseph."
