State Baseball Playoffs Set to Begin

Monsignor Bonner, fresh off winning its first PIAA District 12 Class AAAA baseball championship, takes on Council Rock Southm District 1's No. 4 seed, Monday at 4:15 p.m. at Richie Ashburn Field in South Philly.

It should be a strong pitching matchup, with Bonner senior righthander Matt Dolan expected to oppose C.R. South junior lefty Bret DeStefano.

Bonner's offensive catalysts are CF Jamie Juisti, SS Jim Haley, 1B Rich Young, and C Paul Shephered.

C.R. South's leaders include SS Bill Fleming, 2B Zach Fitgerald, 3B Justin Thomas, and 1B Ryan Downs.

The Bonner-C.R. South victor will play the Spring-Ford/Spring Grove winner.
