Police said officers were called to the 1400 block of West Wingohocking Street, on the border of the city's Logan and Nicetown sections, shortly after 12:30 a.m. Tuesday.
A 22-year-old man who had been shot several times was taken to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 1:06 a.m.
The other victim, a 39-year-old man, suffered a graze wound to his left leg. He was treated at Temple and released.
The motive for the shooting wasn't known and no arrests have been made.
The slain man's name was not released because his family hadn't been notified.
