The first slaying happened shortly after 4 p.m., when 28-year-old Brandon Baylor, of the city's Frankford section, was gunned down on the 1900 block of North 25th Street, police said.
Baylor, who suffered gunshot wounds to his chest and groin, was taken to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:38 p.m.
In an apparently unrelated shooting later Monday, 37-year-old Henry Wood, of the Ludlow neighborhood, was shot several times on the 1700 block of Cambridge Street about 10:30 p.m.
Medics pronounced him dead at the scene, police said.
The motives in both cases remained unknown Tuesday. No descriptions of any suspects were available. Homicide detectives are investigating.
