Fire rages through residential block in Trenton
A six-alarm inferno whipped by high winds destroyed nine rowhomes and damaged three cars on a residential block in Trenton overnight.
It took firefighters about four-and-a-half hours to control the blaze on the unit block of Weinberg Place.
Two residents and a firefighter were taken to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. Their conditions are not yet known. At least seven people were reported to be displaced by the blaze, which was first reported about 3 a.m.
Fire officials said their efforts to battle the fire were hampered by downed power lines.
Fire companies from surrounding communities, including Buck County, were called in to provide support and to cover Trenton in case a fire breaks out in another part of the city.
The cause of the fire is under invetigation.
