N.J. fire lieutenant allegedly robs bank in Burlco

A Burlington Township fire lieutenant is accused of robbing a TD Bank, a crime co-workers said may have been motivated by mounting medical bills.

Baldinger, who was being held at the Burlington County Jail on $100,000 bail,  is listed as a lieutenant at Independent Fire Co., one of three volunteer companies comprising the Burlington Township Fire Department. He is also a 20-year member of the Beverly-Edgewater Park Emergency Squad, according to the Burlington County Times.

"That's not the person that I would know that would do something like that. Something else had to set it off," Beverly Council President Robert Bancroft told 6ABC.
