If you're planning a late-season Shore getaway, you could have some royal company.

Prince Albert and Princess Charlene of Monaco are reported to be planning a trip to the United States in September that includes stops in Washington, D.C., and New York City.

And the prince has also expressed interest in taking his wife to the Jersey Shore.

"I'd like to show her Ocean City, New Jersey," Prince Albert recently told People. "I used to go there a lot when I was young."

The prince is the son of Grace Kelly, the East Falls native who became an Academy Award-winning actress and princess of Monaco. Princess Grace, along with her husband, Prince Rainier, and their children would vacation in Ocean City.

"There's still a Kelly reunion at Ocean City every Labor Day," Prince Albert told People. He added that this year, "maybe we'll just surprise them!"

Prince Albert visited the Philadelphia area in 2013, when an exhibit about his mother opened at the James A. Michener Art Museum in Doylestown.

In Ocean City, where the Kelly family owned a summer home, interest in the royal family remains high, Jeff McGranahan, executive director of the Ocean City Historical Museum, told the Press of Atlantic City.

"I think that speaks a lot to Ocean City's resonance with people. That fond nostalgia of the good old days. There are so many people who still live here in Ocean City that remember those days when the royal couple would come to Ocean City and stay," he said.
