Philly elections official blasts Sean Hannity over ‘rigged’ vote allegations

Over the past week, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has suggested on multiple occasions that the November election might be rigged against him.

"And I hope the Republicans are watching closely," Trump added, "or it's going to be taken away from us."

On his show Friday, Hannity echoed Trump's claims, and cited a 2012 Philadelphia Inquirer report saying "In 59 separate precincts in inner-city Philadelphia … Mitt Romney did not get a single vote, not one."

Following Hannity's tirade, CNN correspondent Brian Stelter criticized Hannity during a televised segment for being irresponsible and "handing Trump the mic" to promote conspiracy theories about voter fraud.

"Hannity should have asked more questions," Stelter said. "Interviewers, even the ones that support the person they're interviewing, have an obligation to probe further and push back when a candidate says something dangerous. And this is dangerous. Suggesting an election is going to be stolen - this is Third World dictatorship stuff."
