Police on Tuesday released the names of two teens killed in separate shootings late last week.

Jayquan Alexander, 16, was shot once in the head about 10:15 p.m. Thursday on one the 5400 block of Hadfield Street in Kinsessing, police said.

Officers took Alexander to Penn-Presbyterian Medical Center, but he died nearly 25 hours later.

Alexander lived on the 5300 block of Willow Street, near where he was shot.

Police say robbery is the apparent motive.

At 11 p.m. Friday, police responded to a call for gunfire on the 200 block of  East Stella Street in Kensington.

Arriving officers were told that two men who had been wounded were taken to Episcopal Hospital in a private vehicle.

Edgar Morales, 18, who lived on block and had been shot once in the chest, was pronounced dead there at 11:16 p.m.

The second victim, also 18, was transferred to Temple University Hospital, where he was reported in stable condition with a gunshot wound to the leg.

Police said the victims were involved in a fight with another group when a man pulled a handgun and opened fire.

No arrests have been made in the either shooting.
