Watch: Arsonist torches garage door in Olney

Police on Thursday released a surveillance video showing an arsonist torching a garage door in Olney in an effort to identify the suspect.

The video shows the arsonist dressed in a hoodie with a backpack, arriving at and leaving the scene on a BMX bicycle.

In between, there is a brilliant explosion as the garage door on the 6100 block of North 4th Street bursts into flames about 7:35 p.m. Monday.

Police said the arsonist may have suffered burns or had his clothing singed when he set the blaze.

Police said the suspect appear to be a 5-foot, 10-inch black man who was 15 to 20 years old.

No other injuries were reported in the fire. Damage was limited to the garage door, police said.
