Preseason Southeastern Pa. Boys Basketball Top 25


Records are from last season.

1. Westtown (25-8). The talent-filled Moose are led by 6-foot-11 forward Mohamed Bamba, 6-8 guard Cameron Reddish, and 6-6 guard Brandon Randolph, an Arizona recruit. Support comes from 6-8 forward Anthony Ochefu and 6-9 forward Jake Forrester.

2. Neumann-Goretti (29-2). The Saints, hungry to gain back the Catholic League title, are spurred by dynamic lead guard Quade Green, a Kentucky recruit, 6-8 center Dhamir Cosby-Roundtree (Villanova), 6-9 forward Marcus Littles, and 6-4 forward Mike Millsip.

3. Imhotep Charter (22-10). The run for a Public League title is headed by guards Daron Russell (Rhode Island) and David Beatty (South Carolina), and 6-5 forward Koby Thomas (Robert Morris). Support comes from 6-6 forward Chereef Knox and 6-7 wing Donte Scott.

4. Archbishop Wood (14-10). The experienced Vikings are poised to make noise in the Catholic League. They bring back guards Collin[CQ] Gillespie and Tyree Pickron, wing Matt Cerruti, 6-11 center Seth Pinkney, 6-7 forward Karrington Wallace, and guard Andrew Funk.

5. Abington (19-6). The Ghosts have a terrific nucleus in 6-6 forward Eric Dixon and guards Robbie Heath, a third-year starter, and Lucas Monroe. They are also banking on solid play from 6-9 forward Joe O'Brien, guard Robert Young, and wing Eric Dougherty.

6. Plymouth Whitemarsh (28-3). The defending PIAA District 1 Class 4A champs are sparked by the Williams twins, Ahmin and Ahmad, 7-foot center Naheem McLeod, and swingman Matt Walker. Ish Horn, a transfer from Martin Luther King, is a rising junior guard.

7. Constitution (24-8). The Generals, who reached the PIAA Class 3A state semifinals last season, are spurred by guards Tamir Green, Hakim Hudson and Keshaun Hammonds, 6-6 forward Maurice Waters, and 6-5 forwards Leroy Wills-Worthy and Youssef Diabate.

8. Germantown Academy (24-6). The defending Inter-Ac League champs have a strong one-two punch in 6-5 guard Evan-Eric Longino and 6-4 wing Kyle McCloskey. Guard Cole Storm and 6-5 sophomores Brian Basile and Kahlil Ashley-Diarrah are also in the mix.

9. Archbishop Carroll (23-7). The Patriots are keyed by guards Colin Daly, who is bound for West Chester, and Justin Anderson, a transfer from Academy of the New Church. Jesse McPherson, a 6-6 forward, has scholarship offers from a number of Division II programs.

10. St. Joseph's Prep (13-10). Speedy guards Kyle Thompson (13.6 ppg., 64 treys) and Darius Kinnel (11.4) are the catalysts; Edward Croswell, a 6-7 forward, came over from Math, Civics & Sciences; and guards Gabe Arizin and Brian Griffin are also key contributors.
