ABC to televise AAC football championship
The American Athletic Conference has announced that its Dec. 3 championship football game will be televised by ABC at noon. The game will be played at the site of one of the divisional winners.
With two games remaining Temple is leading the East Division and Navy is on top of the West.
Navy (7-2, 5-1) only needs to win one of its final two road games over East Carolina (3-7, 1-5) and SMU (5-5, 3-3) to clinch the West Division title. If Navy wins both, the Mids should be the host of the championship games.
Temple (7-3, 5-1) is tied with South Florida in the East, but the Owls win over the Bulls gives them the tiebreaker. If Temple wins at Tulane (3-7, 0-6) and home against East Carolina (3-7, 1-5), then the Owls will earn a second straight division title.
In last year's inaugural AAC title game, host Houston beat Temple, 24-13.
