Temple associate head coach/defensive backs Francis Brown said it was time for a new challenge, which is why he's joining former Owls head coach Matt Rhule's staff at Baylor.
Rhule was hired by Baylor on Tuesday.
"Temple did one heck of a job and this time I will try to go on and try to win a championship at Baylor," Brown said in a phone interview.
The 33-year-old Brown is a product of Camden High. His first association with Rhule came in college at Western Carolina when he was a player and Rhule served as assistant coach.
Brown began his coaching career in 2010 serving as defensive backs coach at Paul VI high school in Haddon Township.
The next year he became the assistant director of Internal operations at Temple and in 2012 was a graduate assistant coach - defense.
When Rhule was hired before the 2013 season, Brown was named defensive backs coach and before this season was given the additional title of associate head coach.
He is known as a tireless recruiter and many of the players he recruited played key roles in this year's American Athletic Conference championship team. The Owls beat Navy, 34-10 in Saturday's AAC title game in Annapolis, Md.
