Here are all the days when you can watch multiple City Six basketball games in person
One of most the fun things that local college basketball wonks do during the winter is picking a day when they can race around the region and watch multiple games in person.
One of most the fun things that local college basketball wonks do during the winter is picking a day when they can race around the region and watch multiple games in person.
Here's a calendar of days when you'll be able to do that this season.
The only rule is that games have to be spaced out by some amount of time so that you can get from one to the other. So for example, if there are games at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. (which happens a few times this season) those don't count. I'd count them if they're at Penn and Drexel, but that scenario isn't on the calendar.
1:00 p.m.: St. Joe's men at Villanova men (Pavilion)
4:00 p.m.: Penn men at Temple men, Villanova women at St. Joe's women
5:30 p.m.: La Salle women at Penn women
7:30 p.m.: George Washington men at Temple men
8:00 p.m.: Lafayette men at Penn men
The two Penn games are on the same ticket.
2:00 p.m.: St. Joe's women at Drexel women
4:30 p.m.: Kean men at Drexel men
Both games are on the same ticket.
12:00 p.m.: Marquette women at Villanova women
3:00 p.m.: Missouri-Kansas City women at La Salle women
4:00 p.m.: Drexel men at Penn men (no, I don't know why this game is at 4)
6:30 p.m.: DePaul men at Villanova men (Pavilion)
7:00 p.m.: James Madison women at St. Joe's women
9:00 p.m.: Cincinnati men at Temple men
4:00 p.m.: Fairfield men at Penn men (yes, another 4:00 p.m. game)
7:00 p.m.: George Washington men at St. Joe's men
7:00 p.m.: DePaul women at Villanova women (Pavilion)
2:00 p.m.: Towson women at Drexel women
4:30 p.m.: Northeastern men at Drexel men
Both games are on the same ticket.
12:00 p.m.: East Carolina men at Temple men
12:00 or 1:00 p.m.: Penn State men vs. Michigan State men at the Palestra
2:00 p.m.: Penn women at Princeton women
7:00 p.m.: Penn men at Princeton men
7:30 p.m.: Marquette men at Villanova men (Wells Fargo Center)
8:00 p.m.: Duquesne men at La Salle men
An exception is made for Penn State-Michigan State, for an obvious reason. If that game ends up starting at 12 p.m., you could potentially drive to Jadwin in time to catch some of the women's game. You'd certainly get there in time for the men's game.
5:30 p.m.: Yale women at Penn women
8:00 p.m.: Yale men at Penn men
Both games are on the same ticket. If it seems unusual to you that the Ivy League is having the men and women play on the same floor on the same night, it is. This is the first time I can remember that a conference matchup is being played as a doubleheader instead of having the men's and women's teams in opposite arenas.
12:30 p.m.: Richmond men at St. Joe's men
1:00 p.m.: St. Joe's women at La Salle women
4:00 p.m.: Delaware men at Drexel men, Tulsa men at Temple men
5:30 p.m.: Brown women at Penn women
8:00 p.m.: Brown men at Penn men
2:00 p.m.: Memphis women at Temple women
7:00 p.m.: St. Joe's men at Penn men
12:00 p.m.: Massachusetts women at La Salle women
7:00 p.m.: Penn men at La Salle men, Temple women at Penn women
1:00 p.m.: George Mason women at La Salle women
2:00 p.m.: College of Charleston men at Drexel men
6:00 p.m.: La Salle men at St. Joe's men
12:00 p.m.: Tulane men at Temple men
3:00 p.m.: Creighton men at Villanova men (Pavilion)
2:00 p.m.: Fordham men at La Salle men
7:00 p.m.: Harvard men at Penn men
