Temple running back Jahad Thomas, who missed the first two games with a dislocated thumb, has made the trip to Penn State and he hopes to play in Saturday's game against the Nittany Lions, according to a school official.

The official confirmed an earlier tweet from broadcaster Zach Gelb, who said that he prerecorded an interview with head coach Matt Rhule that will air later Friday afternoon.

Gelb said that Rhule told him that he hopes Thomas will play.

Thomas was at practice on Tuesday but left near the end when he banged his hand and was wincing in pain.

Last season Thomas rushed for 135 yards and two touchdowns as Temple beat Penn State 27-10 in the opener for both teams.
