Temple announces start time for opener at Notre Dame

Temple's opening football game at Notre Dame on Sept. 2 will have a 3:30 p.m. kickoff and be televised by NBC.

Both Notre Dame and NBC made the announcement on Thursday.

Frequently, the start times of college football games aren't known anywhere from seven to 10 days before, due to television considerations.

This will be the opening game for new coach Geoff Collins. Ironically, Temple's opener in 2013 was at Notre Dame and was the debut for Matt Rhule as the Owls head coach. That game was played Aug. 31 and Notre Dame won 28-6.

Temple will play its Cherry & White spring football game on April 22 at its practice facility.

The Owls have gone 10-4 in each of the previous two seasons, tying a single-season school record for wins.

Here is Temple's schedule.
