Temple's Boumerhi named AAC special teams player of week

Temple freshman kicker Aaron Boumerhi has been named the American Athletic Conference special teams player of the week.

In only his second game replacing injured Austin Jones, Boumerhi connected on all three of his field-goal attempts and five PATs in Friday's 46-30 win over South Florida. (Jones is out for the year with an ACL tear.)

In his two games, Boumerhi, a walk-on from Philipsburg, Pa., has made all five of his field-goal tries. Against USF, he connected on field goals of 22, 35 and 42 yards.

Temple's Ryquell Armstead made the AAC honor roll after rushing for 210 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries against USF. He scored on runs of 76 and 42 yards.
