Villanova's Josh Hart named an AP preseason all-American

Josh Hart of Villanova was named to the preseason all-America team selected by the Associated Press.

Villanova's Josh Hart was named Wednesday to the Associated Press' preseason all-America team.

Hart, the Big East's preseason player of the year, received 53 votes in the balloting from a 65-member national media panel that also selects the weekly Top 25. The defending national-champion Wildcats start the new season at No. 4 in that poll.

Hart, a 6-foot-5  1/2 senior, averaged 15.5 points and 6.8 rebounds last season. He is the first Villanova player named an AP preseason all-American since Kerry Kittles in 1995.

Hart was joined on the all-America team by Grayson Allen of Duke, Ivan Rabb of California, Dillon Brooks of Oregon and Monte Morris of Iowa State. Allen was the top votes-getter with 61.
