Collingswood restaurant is up for grabs

The owner of Joe Pesce says he is testing the water for a sale or lease.

Joe Pesce, the casual yet refined Italian BYOB that's been at 833 Haddon Ave. in Collingswood since 2007, traditionally takes a summer vacation after July 4.

This year, it may be a permanent vacation.

Chef/owner Joseph Tucker and his wife, Chasity, are flying high in Longport with Catch 2401, which they restored top to bottom over the winter to bring it back from Sandy flooding. Catch 2401 just earned a rave from The Inquirer's Craig LaBan, and the crowds are heavy.

This may explain the real estate listing for Joe Pesce.

I noticed that the corner building, fully equipped with a turnkey restaurant, is on the market for $499,000. Don't have that kind of coin? Another listing mentions a $3,500 monthly lease.

Tucker said by text that he's "just testing the water. ... If nothing happens, I'm going to open it back up in September."
