Early tastes of Center City District Restaurant Week

Check out Rosa Blanca and High Street on Market. The deals will be offered Jan. 19-24 and Jan. 26-31, 2014.

Center City District's next Restaurant Week is next month (Jan. 19-24 and Jan. 26-31).

The menus are rolling in from the 100-plus participating restaurants.

Just posted on the CCD website are the offerings from two intriguing newcomers - one of which hasn't opened yet.

Jose Garces' Cuban diner Rosa Blanca (707 Chestnut St.), which is expected to open in the next two weeks, will serve the $20 lunches and $35 dinners. (The Rosa Blanca reservation book is not yet open.)

For lunch, chef Yun Fuentes will whip up cubano sandwiches, red snapper filet and ropa vieja. The lunch menu is here.

For dinner, Rosa Blanca will offer thin-cut pork chops, ropa vieja, pollo a la brasa, and snapper filet. The dinner menu is here.

The other newcomer is High Street on Market, the high-minded but casual next-door neighbor of Fork at 308 Market St.

The mains on Chef Eli Kulp's dinner menu (here) are eggplant agnolotti (jerk spices, caramelized goat yogurt), buckwheat orecchiette (crawfish, okra), and roasted pork (Castle valley corn porridge, Brussels and apples).
