Garage opening a second location in Fishtown

They're adding roll-up doors to both sides. It will be the same format - Skee-Ball, pinball, and billiards as entertainment - but they're building a full kitchen whose service area will be built to resemble a food cart.

One of the biggest recent South Philadelphia bar success stories is Garage, a hang across from Pat's and Geno's that is little more than a spiffed-up auto garage with a huge beer inventory.

The idea works, and partners Jason Evenchik (Time, Bar, Vintage, Heritage, La Casa de Tu Madre), and his partners Josh McCullough, Terrance Leach and Sal D'Amato are doing it again.

What they're tentatively calling Garage North is being set up at the corner of Frankford Avenue and Girard Avenue in Fishtown, in what was the Penn Treaty Market before it tightened up and moved next door.

It's also across the intersection from Johnny Brenda's and Joe's Steaks, and up the street from the other fun house, Barcade.

They're adding roll-up doors to both sides. It will be the same format - Skee-Ball, pinball, and billiards as entertainment - but they're building a full kitchen whose service area will be built to resemble a food cart.

The original at Ninth and Passyunk has a dedicated food cart to accommodate guest chefs but no true kitchen.

Look for a spring opening.
