Good Stuff Eatery closes in Philly

The two-level setup was too much of a turn-off.

The local burger war has a casualty, as Good Stuff Eatery - which opened in June 2014 at 108 S. 18th St., near Rittenhouse Square - has closed.

Awaiting official comment from its corporate office, I hear that the two-level setup just was too much of a turn-off and that the Washington, D.C.-based brand is looking for new space in town.

Good Stuff's front man is the affable Spike Mendelsohn, an alum of Top Chef.

A new liquor license has been posted, indicating that a new owner is coming aboard.

Stay tuned.
