RAIT Financial Trust, a Philadelphia internally managed real estate investment trust, has separated the offices of chairman and CEO, both previously held by Scott Schaeffer, and elected Michael Malter as an independent chairman. Malter joined the RAIT board in November 2015 and serves on the Risk Management Committee and the Compensation Committee of the board, and chairs the Special Committee. Schaeffer will remain a member of the board and continue as CEO. Malter is a retired investment banker who served in a variety of senior management positions at JPMorgan Chase & Co. and its predecessor firms from 1988 until 2005. He retired as cohead of the Global Financial Institutions Group of JPMorgan Chase in 2005.

Jaclyn Daley, marketing director of Swiss Farms, the Delaware County-based drive-through market firm, has been elected to the board of Pathways PA, a nonprofit that helps low-income women and families in the county end the cycle of poverty, homelessness, and abuse by helping them to move along the path to self-sufficiency.

Associated Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired, a Philadelphia nonprofit, has named Ronald E. Bowlan board chairman. He is vice president and chief facilities officer for Thomas Jefferson University. Robert B. Jefferson has been named to the board. He had been vice president and controller at Liberty International Underwriters, New York, and is a board member at Jefferson National Insurance Co., the Arts and Business Council of Philadelphia, and the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society.

Eastern National, a Fort Washington not-for-profit cooperating association that promotes the public's understanding and support of America's national parks and other public trust partners, has elected Harvey C. Perry II to its board. He retired as director of the office for nonprofit resources at Washington Trust Co.

Philadelphia Boys Choir and Chorale, Philadelphia, has named Paul Mainardi board chair. He is an attorney and partner with law firm Brown & Connery LLP.

Andrew Fish

has been appointed to the boards of Malvern Federal Savings Bank and its parent company, Malvern Bancorp Inc. Fish is a director of Real Estate Equity Co., Englewood, N.J.

The New Jersey School Public Relations Association, Millburn, has elected Lori Perlow president. She has been the admissions officer/community liaison at Mercer County Technical Schools since 2010. Other officers elected include: Janet Bamford, manager of communications and publications at the New Jersey School Boards Association, secretary; Nancy Dries, coordinator of communications and community outreach at Millburn Township Public Schools, treasurer; Laura Geltch, program and community coordinator at Burlington County Special Services and the Burlington County Institute of Technology School District, vice president of communications; Laura Bishop, managing principal of Laura Bishop Communications, vice president of membership; and Maren Smagala, district communications coordinator at North Hunterdon-Voorhees Regional High School District, vice president of programming.
