3M Acquires Paint Finishing Business

Dedication to Detail, a Philadelphia-based manufacturer of paint-finishing systems, is being acquired by 3M, the companies have announced.
Terms of the purchase were not disclosed.
Dedication to Detail develops and manufactures a range of abrasives and accessories, and painting and cleaning products for the automotive after-market and other uses.
3M, which is based in St. Paul, noted that the acquisition would beef up its range of vehicle-appearance products with items sold under the "Edge" brand.
Aaron Krause, Dedication to Detail's CEO and president, said that the company's 20 employees would be retained, as would the current facilities.
"In fact, we'll be expanding at our current location," said Krause, who founded the firm 16 years ago with Saul Denenberg, company vice president.
Krause said today that his location would be the official manufacturer of 3M buffing pads.
