Sprouts Farmers Market Inc. plans to open a store in the 140-plus-year-old train shed that's part of the Lincoln Square residential and retail development on South Broad Street, according to plans filed with a city agency.
Sketches to be reviewed Wednesday by the Philadelphia Art Commission show logos for the natural foods grocer on the historic freight shed at the northwest corner of the Lincoln Square development site, which is bounded by Carpenter Street and Washington Avenue, between Broad and 15th Streets.
The Phoenix-based chain had been identified as a tenant at Lincoln Square on a presentation posted to the website of the development's owner, Kimco Realty Corp., but the reference to the store was later removed from the online document.
Already confirmed for the complex, now under construction, are Target Corp. and PetSmart Inc. stores. It is also to include about 360 rental apartments.
