Your voter-registration application must arrive at your county board of elections or be postmarked today if you want to be eligible to vote Nov. 4.
Philadelphia's voter-registration administrator, Bob Lee, said he's been flooded with new applications, more than 25 percent of which were duplicates of people already registered.
"If someone has voted any time in the last five years and hasn't changed addresses, they're fine. They don't need to register," Lee said.
If you do have to register, the safest option at this point is to register in person.
The Philadelphia registration office at Spring Garden Street and Columbus Boulevard will be open until midnight tonight to accommodate late-comers.
An alternative, Lee said, is your local post office.
"You can get an application at the post office, fill it out there, and ask them to postmark it in front of you," Lee said.
"If you want to mail an application in, check the mailbox and make sure you haven't missed the pickup time for today."
You can download an application at the Pennsylvania Department of State's Web site, www.votespa.com, but you're responsible for getting it in on time.
If you want to vote absentee, you have until Oct. 28 to apply for a ballot, but election officials advise you to apply early, because they expect heavy volume this year.
