Living sculpture rises at Comcast Center

Workers today put the finishing touches on the installation of a giant new “floating” sculpture inside the entrance of the Comcast Center. “Humanity in Motion,” by Maine artist Jonathan Borofsky, features 12 colorful figures – men, women, and children – suspended on stainless steel beams criss-crossing the building’s 130-foot tall atrium.

In a statement, Borofsky had this to say about the sculpture: “…Everything is in motion, and as part of this universal motion, we human beings learn to connect and to work with each other.”
Other Borofsky works are installed around the world – from the 72-foot “Hammering Man” in downtown Seoul, to “Walking to the Sky,” a 100-foot work in Rockefeller Center.
