A southbound SEPTA R2 commuter train clipped a car at a grade crossing in Montgomery County this morning, briefly disrupting service on the line and sending the motorist to the hospital,

"A car got too close to the tracks," said Felipe Suarez, a SEPTA spokesman.

The accident occurred shortly before 6 a.m. at Susquehanna Road in Abington Township as the train, bound for Center City and Philadelphia International Airport, approached the Roslyn train station.

No passengers aboard the train were injured. The driver of the car, who has not been identified, was transported to a nearby hospital.

Trains were back to operating on or close to schedule by 7 a.m., Suarez said.
