Two men were fatally shot in separate incidents in Philadelphia late Wednesday.

The first killing happened at about 10:40 p.m., when officers were called to the 700 block of South 60th Street in West Philadelphia for a report of a person with a gun.

Officers found 24-year-old Charles Bellinger on a porch, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head, police said.

Medics pronounced him dead at the scene at 10:48 p.m.

About 20 minutes later, a 27-year-old man was shot in the chest on the 1200 block of West Westmoreland Street in Franklinville.

He was taken to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:20 p.m., police said.

The man's name wasn't released because his family hasn't been notified.

Police said Thursday morning that the motive for both shootings remained unknown.

No arrests were made, and no descriptions of any suspects were available.
