Brady stays on mayoral primary ballot

U.S. Rep. Bob Brady is still on the Philadelphia mayoral ballot - for now.
Ruling on a petition to remove the congressman for having omitted pension information from his financial disclosure form, Luzerne County Judge Patrick J. Toole Jr. decided yesterday that Brady could amend his form.
A group of supporters of mayoral candidate Tom Knox's had argued that the omissions meant Brady's name should be wiped off the ballot.
The challengers' lawyer, Paul Rosen, vowed yesterday to appeal Toole's ruling.
"He's changed the law and made an exception for Brady," said Rosen, who was still waiting for a fax of the ruling while on vacation in the Caribbean. "Other people have been removed [for similar omissions]. ... I can't believe they carved out a law just for Brady. I'm shocked."
Brady's spokeswoman, Kate Philips, had no immediate comment.
Toole was brought in to hear the case in Philadelphia because Brady, as the city's Democratic Party chief, has played a role in electing most local judges.
