The staff of the Kennett Area YMCA is celebrating its selection as the "number-one YMCA in the country in member satisfaction," according to Seer Analytics.
Babette Racca, executive director of the Kennett Square branch, credits her staff performance and the member culture for achieving this distinction. "There is a spirit at this branch that can only come from people working together to positively impact lives and achieve health in spirit, mind and body," she said in a news release.
YMCAs measure their member satisfaction through independent surveys conducted by Seer Analytics. The Kennett Y was the only branch of 500 surveyed nationwide in 2009 to score in the top 20th percentile in every attribute, Mark Dengler, Seer's vice president of sales and services, said today.
"It's a truly amazing Y," Dengler said. "Some others scored well in five of the six categories, but none of the others had all six; I told them they won the Super Bowl, but had some competitors."
Dengler said a "random but representative" survey asked members to rate these categories: facility, support (staff), value, engagement, involvement and impact.
The Kennett Area YMCA, on Race Street in Kennett Square, offers membership and programs for people of all ages and abilities as well as reduced fees for low-income households. Registration for the spring session will begin Feb. 13. For more information, visit www.ymcabwv.org or call 610-444-9622.
